HARMONIZATION OF LAW IN EUROPE: A KEY LEVER TO STRENGTHEN THE COMPETITIVENESS OF EUROPEAN BUSINESSES

On November 13, during the dialogue between President Emmanuel Macron and Mario Draghi at the Collège de France, Isabelle Négrier, Managing Director of EuropaNova, presented the 2024 Conclave report to Mario Draghi. This report highlights 17 key points, with a particular focus on establishing a European business law code. A similar model already exists in the United States and in Africa, and it is now crucial that it be supported by European governance.

A first version of this code was presented in Rome in September 2023, in collaboration with the Capitant Association, EuropaNova, and legal experts from across Europe.

EuropaNova also welcomes the intervention of European Commissioner Stéphane Séjourné during his hearing on November 12, where he emphasized the importance of this lever to promote the development of European businesses, particularly within the framework of the European internal market.
