European leaders in Poland are addressing the future of Europe through 5 key topics: sustainability, digital transformation, green energy, global trade, and elections.

Guillaume Klossa, President of EuropaNova, attended the European Forum for New Ideas 2024, alongside prominent figures like Andrzej Dycha, Michał Kobosko, Adriana Lukaszewicz, Dominik Mierzejewski, Jawahar J. Singh, Róbert Vass and several former Polish Prime Ministers and Deputy Prime Ministers, to celebrate 35 years of economic transformation in Poland. The discussions highlighted the country’s positive evolution, which has seen exports grow from $20 billion in 1989 to $360 billion today. However, the consensus was clear: there is no room for complacency, and continuing economic reforms is crucial.
Guillaume Klossa emphasized one of the major challenges facing Europe: « Science and Technology are already the first driver for géopolitcal leadership. The main leverage of the US and China to support the technological leadership is their army. As Premier Donald Tusk uses to say, we need one army. It doesn’t mean to merge our national armies, it deals with developing a structural coopération between armies in all fiels. »
Leszek Balcerowicz also underscored the necessity of streamlining social spending in Poland and continuing privatization, highlighting that the country has one of the highest rates of public ownership in Europe.
This rich exchange of ideas fueled a critical debate on the strategic and economic future of Europe, addressing topics such as energy transition and technological leadership, which are essential for the region’s future.
